CASE Construction Equipment, a division of CNH Industrial, is enhancing its Indian operations as part of its global strategy, positioning the country as a significant hub for manufacturing and exports, according to a report by Autocar Professional. The company announced these developments during the Bharat Construction Equipment Expo 2025.

India contributes approximately 10% of CNH’s sales in the Asia-Pacific region, with the domestic market accounting for around 3,500 units of the company’s global production of 40,000 machines. Key products manufactured in India, including backhoe loaders, skid-steer loaders, excavators, and compactors, are exported to over 100 countries.

The Pithampur facility, CASE’s second-largest production site after its North American plant, plays a central role in this strategy. Over the last five to six years, more than ₹1,000 crore has been invested in Indian operations, largely focused on the Pithampur plant.

According to Emre Karazli, Vice President of the Construction Segment for CNH APAC, India’s manufacturing and sourcing capabilities are integral to the company’s supply chain. Components produced in India are either exported directly to CNH facilities worldwide or further processed through assembly and sub-assembly before export.

Satendra Tiwari, Executive Director of Operations, noted that fabrication costs in India are now comparable to those in China, aligning with the global “China Plus One” strategy to diversify supply chains. While advanced components like hydraulic pumps and proprietary technologies are still imported from countries like South Korea and Japan, efforts are underway to localize these technologies through partnerships with suppliers.

CASE also plans significant expansions in India, including new production lines and increased capacity at existing plants in Pithampur, Greater Noida, and Pune. Managing Director Shalabh Chaturvedi highlighted efforts to boost supply chain localization to reduce reliance on imports and diversify the product portfolio for both domestic and export markets.

This expansion underscores India’s growing role in CASE’s global manufacturing and export operations, with continued investment and infrastructure development at the core of its strategy.
