Toyota Kirloskar Motor Pvt. Ltd. has partnered with the Government Industrial Training Institute (ITI), Aizawl, to introduce the Toyota-Technical Education Program (T-TEP), offering a one-year General Technician (Mechanic) course.
The program, launched with an initial cohort of 24 students, is designed to provide technical training and certification to participants upon successful completion and examination. Toyota Kirloskar Motor Pvt. Ltd. has supplied the necessary tools and equipment for the program. Mizoram is the 27th location in India to adopt the T-TEP initiative.
At the inauguration event, Labor and Employment Minister Pu Lalnghinglova Hmar emphasized the importance of skill development in addressing the demand for technically proficient professionals in the automotive sector. He highlighted plans to expand and upgrade the ITI’s infrastructure to support skill development initiatives.
The event included a tour of the T-TEP facilities, where students were encouraged to commit fully to the program. The initiative aims to equip participants with technical skills required for employment in the growing automotive industry.
The program’s launch aligns with broader state efforts to enhance youth employability through skill development initiatives. According to the press release, this collaboration marks a step toward meeting industry demands while providing educational opportunities for students in Mizoram.
