Flying Wedge Defence and Aerospace (FWDA) has received an international order for 35 FWD 100 ISR (Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance) autonomous aircraft from a Sub-Saharan nation. The announcement was made on February 11 at the Aero India 2025 air show in Bengaluru.

The FWD 100 ISR, a sub-variant of the FWD 200B, is developed and manufactured at FWDA’s facility in Electronic City, Bengaluru. The aircraft is designed for surveillance and intelligence gathering, featuring an advanced optical payload, a six-metre wingspan, 3.8-metre length, and a maximum take-off weight of 90 kg. It has an operational endurance of up to 24 hours.

While the financial details of the agreement have not been disclosed, the deal marks a step in India’s defence exports. The company also showcased an upgraded unmanned bomber at the event, equipped with laser-graded weaponry and a 24-hour endurance capability.

Suhas Tejaskanda, Founder and CEO of FWDA, stated that the order represents a shift in India’s defence manufacturing capabilities.

The agreement follows India’s broader efforts to expand its presence in the global defence market.
