HENN Connector Group has inaugurated a new assembly plant in Chennai, India, as part of its international expansion strategy. The Austrian company has invested approximately one million euros in the facility, which will begin supplying plastic couplings to automotive manufacturers in the Indo-Pacific market from March 2025.

The plant, covering 1,500 square meters, currently employs around a dozen workers, with plans to expand the workforce to over 100 in response to increasing demand. Chennai, a key automotive hub in India, was selected for its infrastructure, proximity to major customers, and strategic location.

In addition to the Chennai facility, HENN has set up an engineering office in Pune, citing the region’s availability of skilled engineers as a factor in its decision.

The inauguration ceremony on January 15, 2025, was attended by company executives, including CEO Martin Ohneberg and Indo-Pacific Managing Director Sharath Sreekumar. Representatives from business and government were also present, including Austrian Ambassador Katharina Wieser and Tamil Nadu Economic Affairs Minister Tha Mo Anbarasan.

According to a press release issued by the company, the new facility is intended to enhance local production capabilities and improve service efficiency for regional customers.
