Kalyani Powertrain, a subsidiary of Bharat Forge Ltd., has entered the Indian server market through a collaboration with AMD (Advanced Micro Devices). The partnership aims to manufacture servers in India incorporating AMD’s EPYC™ processors, with future plans to integrate AMD Instinct™ accelerators.
At an event in Pune, representatives from both companies, including Bharat Forge Chairman & Managing Director Baba Kalyani and AMD India Managing Director & Corporate Vice President Vinay Sinha, unveiled the first server unit based on AMD technology. The initiative is intended to expand India’s server infrastructure and support local manufacturing efforts.
The servers developed under this collaboration will include AMD EPYC™ processors, which are designed for high-performance computing and energy efficiency. AMD will provide design support and technical documentation to Kalyani Powertrain to facilitate the development of these solutions.
The collaboration is expected to address the needs of enterprises, cloud providers, and data centers in India by offering cost-efficient solutions for AI workloads, cloud computing, and large-scale data processing. The companies have stated that this move aligns with efforts to strengthen India’s data infrastructure and expand its role in global digital transformation.
