Pellucere Technologies has inaugurated a manufacturing facility for nano coatings in Chakan, Maharashtra, on February 24, 2025. The plant has an annual production capacity of 8,500 metric tons and will manufacture coatings used in solar panels, retrofit solar, architectural glass, mirrors, glass partitions, and automotive glass.

The facility will produce various advanced coatings, including anti-reflective, anti-soiling, hydrophobic, hydrophilic, photocatalytic self-cleaning, and anti-fog technologies. The company stated that local production is expected to improve supply chain efficiency, reduce delivery times, and provide dedicated technical support.

Pellucere Technologies’ India team, led by Managing Director Nirmal Simon, oversaw the facility’s development. The inauguration event was attended by customers, including representatives from Borosil and Gold Plus, along with vendors, partners, and employees.

According to industry projections, India’s solar market is expected to reach USD 24.9 billion by 2030. The company stated that the new facility aligns with the increasing demand for high-performance glass across solar, architectural, and automotive industries.
