The Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI) has inaugurated a new vehicle testing and evaluation facility at the National Automotive Test Tracks (NATRAX) in Indore, Madhya Pradesh. The new site, called the ARAI-VE Lab Workplace, is intended to support vehicle manufacturers, system suppliers, and tyre companies with services related to vehicle dynamics testing and Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) evaluation.

The facility aims to address growing industry requirements for testing and certification in the automotive sector. The facility was opened by ARAI Director Reji Mathai, alongside senior officials including Abdul Jabbar Akbar Badusha, senior deputy director and head of the Vehicle Evaluation Laboratory.

“The Indian mobility sector is continuously evolving with disruptive technologies and hence, requires uninterrupted collaboration between stakeholders. We are pleased to announce a new initiative, ARAI–Vehicle Evaluation Lab Workplace, which will provide our specially curated service portfolio through our presence at NATRAX facility, Indore,” Mathai said.

He added, “This initiative will help us in realising our full potential and catalyse our support to the manufacturers for their certification & Homologation, and testing & validation needs connected with all aspects of Vehicle Dynamics.”

The organization stated that the facility has been established in response to changing technological demands within the automotive industry and will be part of its broader strategy to expand testing infrastructure across India.
