Cummins has inaugurated a new manufacturing facility at its Megasite in Phaltan, Maharashtra, focused on producing e-heaters for aftertreatment systems. These components are intended for use in both on-highway and off-highway engines and will be supplied to global markets.

The e-heaters are designed to support emission control by enabling Original Equipment Manufacturers to comply with evolving global regulations. According to the company, the facility is part of Cummins’ broader manufacturing network and will focus on the production of components aimed at enhancing fuel efficiency and emission control under various operating conditions.

The Phaltan Megasite, established in 2010, encompasses both a Domestic Tariff Area and a Special Economic Zone. Over the years, Cummins has developed multiple facilities at this location, including engine manufacturing plants, a parts distribution center, and an industrial engine upfit center. The Megasite has seen cumulative investments of approximately USD 400 million.

The newly inaugurated e-heater facility adds to Cummins’ existing operations at the Megasite, which include the production of high horsepower engines and other components.
