Emmvee has inaugurated a new photovoltaic module manufacturing facility in Sulibele, near Bengaluru International Airport. The new unit adds approximately 2.0 gigawatts peak (GWp) to the company’s existing production capacity, bringing its total module manufacturing capacity to about 6.6 GWp. The company’s solar cell production capacity remains at 2.5 GWp.

The facility spans roughly 400,000 square feet and is expected to employ over 500 personnel, including engineering, operations, administrative, and leadership roles. With this addition, Emmvee’s total workforce is set to expand beyond its current headcount of more than 2,000 employees.

Suhas Donthi, President and CEO of Emmvee, stated, “The new facility will bolster our production capacity, which will enable us to better service our customers. We are not merely increasing capacity but also enhancing our technological advancements and business operations. The unit is designed with advanced automation, multiple levels of quality control and is versatile to produce different module sizes and formats.”

The expansion comes as part of the company’s ongoing investment in solar manufacturing amid the growth of India’s renewable energy infrastructure. According to recent data, India’s installed solar capacity stands at 105.65 GW.
