Azad Engineering, a manufacturer of precision-engineered components, has signed a six-year manufacturing contract worth USD 53.5 million with GE Vernova’s Steam Power Services business unit. The agreement, which extends through 2030, involves the production and supply of rotating and stationary airfoils used in nuclear, industrial, and thermal power applications.
The company will manufacture these components at its recently inaugurated 7,600 square meter lean manufacturing facility in Tunikibollaram, Hyderabad. This facility has been developed to meet production capacity requirements for GE Vernova and other clients.
“This achievement reflects remarkable perseverance throughout our collaboration,” said Rakesh Chopdar, Chairman and CEO of Azad Engineering. “We’ve overcome rigorous qualification processes, mastered precision tolerances measured in microns, and conquered numerous engineering challenges,” he said. “This six-year agreement through 2030 strengthens our position in the global power generation supply chain and validates our precision engineering capabilities for critical applications.”
Azad Engineering has been investing in advanced manufacturing capabilities as part of its broader strategy to support long-term contracts with original equipment manufacturers in the aerospace, defence, energy, and oil & gas sectors.
The company was founded in 2008 by Rakesh Chopdar. It manufactures precision-engineered components for clients in 17 countries, serving industries including aerospace, defence, energy, and industrial technology. Azad Engineering operates as a Tier 1 supplier to various global OEMs.
