Ensto, a Finland-based company focused on electricity distribution solutions, has announced plans to expand its Line Accessories as well as Protection, Automation and Control (PAC) businesses in India. This move follows the company’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its manufacturing footprint in the country and integrate India more deeply into its global supply chain.
In 2021, Ensto increased its production capacity by opening a new manufacturing facility adjacent to its existing plant in Gurgaon. The expansion grew the total floor area from 2,300 to 3,700 square meters. The facility was designed to support the local assembly of overhead line accessories and includes a test laboratory to assist in product development and quality assurance.
As part of its strategy, Ensto is transferring production of its Overhead Line products from Estonia to the Indian plant. The company indicated that the Indian facility now manufactures products for both domestic and international markets.
The company also highlighted the significance of India’s growing infrastructure and energy demand in shaping its regional strategy. The company views India as a key location for innovation and expansion in the electricity distribution sector.
