Indodeutsche Precision Tubes, a manufacturer of steel tubes, has opened a new manufacturing plant in Badli, near Delhi, India. The facility is the result of a joint venture between Germany-based Poppe + Potthoff GmbH and India-based Lalbaba Engineering. The plant will focus on the production of precision steel tubes and input materials for industrial applications.

The facility is designed to produce 15,000 tonnes annually, and represents a total investment of INR 2 billion. It incorporates a 2 MW rooftop solar system, supplying 35% of its energy needs, with plans to increase this to 50% within two years. The facility employs advanced wastewater treatment systems to achieve zero liquid discharge and uses 85% less water compared to conventional seamless tube plants.

Established in 1964, Lalbaba Engineering Group is an Indian manufacturing company specializing in seamless tubes, brake systems, couplers, and forging items. Headquartered in Kolkata, the group operates multiple facilities across West Bengal and serves clients in India and international markets, including the USA, Germany, the UK, France, Africa, and the UAE.

Indodeutsche Precision Tubes Private Limited was incorporated on December 20, 2023, with an authorized and paid-up capital of INR 160 million. According to the companies, the collaboration combines Poppe + Potthoff’s experience in precision and specialty components with Lalbaba Engineering’s manufacturing capabilities in the tube industry, and will create new opportunities for global markets and future industries.

Founded in 1928 and headquartered in Werther, Germany, Poppe + Potthoff GmbH specializes in precision steel tubes, high-pressure pipes, precision components, and test systems.
