Tenneco has appointed Arvind Chandra as the new Chief Executive Officer of its India operations. Chandra will oversee Tenneco India’s divisions, including Clean Air, Monroe Ride Solutions, Champion Ignition, and Powertrain businesses. This move comes as the company seeks to further strengthen its presence in the Indian market, which continues to be a key area of growth in its global strategy.
Chandra brings extensive experience from his previous roles at companies like Delphi, Wabco, Faurecia (now Forvia), and Minda Corporation. Most recently, he served as India CEO for Aliaxis Group. Tenneco aims to leverage his leadership to drive growth and innovation in India, focusing on lightweight and cost-effective solutions for the region.
The Indian automotive components sector has seen substantial growth, with a turnover of $57 billion in the 2023-24 fiscal year, contributing approximately 2.3% to India’s GDP, according to the Automotive Component Manufacturers Association of India (ACMA). Tenneco has several manufacturing facilities in India, supporting both domestic and international customers. The company manufactures automotive products for original equipment manufacturers and aftermarket customers under its DRiV, Performance Solutions, Clean Air, and Powertrain groups.
Rishi Verma, President of Tenneco India, will report to Chandra while continuing his leadership role in day-to-day operations. He will also take on additional responsibilities for the Powertrain solutions division, specifically for the piston, rings, valve seats, and guides businesses.
