The Government of India has approved an INR 4.17 billion Electronics Manufacturing Cluster (EMC 2.0) project to be developed by the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) in Gautam Buddha Nagar, Uttar Pradesh. Spread across 200 acres, the project is expected to attract investments of around INR 25 billion and generate approximately 15,000 jobs.

YEIDA has issued a Letter of Intent (LoI) to Dixon Technologies for setting up a manufacturing facility on 22.54 acres in Sector 10 of the cluster. The company plans to produce mobile phones, consumer electronics, telecom equipment, lighting products, and white goods at the site. According to YEIDA CEO Arun Vir Singh, Dixon is the fourth company to receive an LoI under the EMC 2.0 scheme.

Other companies granted LoIs include Ascent-K Circuit, a subsidiary of Amber Enterprises India Ltd, which will manufacture printed circuit boards (PCBs) on 16 acres, and Aurionpro ToshiAutomatic Systems, which has been allocated 5 acres for the production of smart transit systems and industrial automation products. Havells India Ltd has been designated as the anchor unit for the cluster, with a planned footprint across 50 acres.

The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) granted in-principle approval for the Sector 10 EMC in April 2025. Final land allotments remain subject to clearances from the Invest UP Empowered Committee and adherence to state regulatory requirements.

The cluster site is located near key infrastructure corridors, including the Yamuna Expressway, Eastern Peripheral Expressway, and the upcoming Palwal–Khurja Expressway. It is also in proximity to the Noida International Airport and several industrial zones such as the Medical Device Park, MSME & Apparel Park, and the Aviation Hub.

In a separate development, Amber Enterprises is expected to receive 100 acres in Sector 8 to establish a dedicated electronics and home appliances unit. Combined, Amber and its subsidiary Ascent-K Circuit are expected to invest about INR 40 billion in the region.

According to MeitY, projects approved under the EMC scheme have so far attracted investments totaling approximately INR 300 billion and generated over 86,000 jobs across 520 companies.
