Behr-Hella Thermocontrol India Private Ltd (BHTC India) has introduced a new Surface Mount Technology (SMT) line at its Pune facility to expand in-house manufacturing capacity and improve lead times. The new line is designed to meet the growing demand from automotive clients and enhance production precision.
The inauguration of the SMT line was attended by Managing Director Asif Khan and other members of the leadership team.
BHTC India operates out of a 120,000-square-foot integrated facility in Pune, Maharashtra. The site employs approximately 300 people and includes surface-mount device (SMD) manufacturing, product testing and validation centers, a global research and development hub, IT infrastructure, and shared services.
The plant focuses on the development and production of automotive human-machine interface (HMI) and climate control panels, supplying both domestic and international original equipment manufacturers (OEMs). The company has invested approximately EUR 10 million in its Indian operations, with an additional EUR 8–10 million earmarked for expansion and capability upgrades.
