Centum Electronics, a manufacturer of electronic systems, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) to collaborate in defence electronics. The agreement, signed on 19 August 2025, outlines cooperation in electronic warfare systems, radar systems, and secure military communication systems.
The partnership is intended to combine Centum’s expertise in electronic system design and manufacturing with BEL’s experience in defence projects to jointly design, develop, and manufacture defence electronics. The focus will be on meeting requirements of the Indian Armed Forces as well as allied markets.
According to the companies, the MoU is currently a strategic framework and does not have any immediate financial implications. They stated that specific financial disclosures will be made when contracts are finalised in line with regulatory requirements.
Following the announcement, Centum’s share price increased by over 5 percent, while BEL’s share price saw a slight decline, which the release indicated may have been due to broader market conditions.
The MoU was exchanged by senior leadership of both companies at BEL’s corporate office in Bengaluru.
Centum Electronics Limited, headquartered in Bengaluru, operates in electronic system design and manufacturing and serves sectors including defence, space, and industrial applications.
