Indra Group, a technology and consulting company, has signed an agreement with Indian technology company AXISCADES to manufacture aerospace and defence systems in India. Under the agreement, Indra systems to be produced in India include antennas for Tactical Air Navigation Systems (TACAN), Distance Measuring Equipment (DME) that provides in-flight information to aircraft, and countermeasure systems designed to protect aircraft from guided missile attacks, including threats such as Man-Portable Air Defense Systems (MANPADS).

The agreement was formalised at the Aerospace Show in Le Bourget by Indra Group CEO José Vicente de los Mozos and AXISCADES Chairman Dr. Sampath Ravinarayanan, in the presence of Indra Chairman Angel Escribano and AXISCADES CEO Alfonso Martinez.

Indra Group has had a longstanding presence in India, with previous projects supplying systems to the Indian Armed Forces and participating in the modernisation of civil air traffic management infrastructure.
