Reinhausen India Private Limited, a manufacturer of electrical equipment, has opened a new facility in Pune, Maharashtra, to expand its local service capabilities and increase engagement with the Indian power sector. The opening event took place on 16 July 2025 at the Hyatt Regency Pune.

Located at MIDC Chakan, the facility is intended to provide faster and more tailored support for Indian energy providers, facilitate the introduction of technology suited to regional requirements, and strengthen technical expertise in transformer maintenance, digitalisation, and grid automation.

The Pune base will serve as a hub for technical knowledge-sharing, training programmes, workshops, and networking for industry professionals, alongside customer engagement and after-sales support. This move aligns with a wider industry trend of multinational firms localising operations to work more closely with stakeholders in India’s expanding and modernising power grid sector.

Maschinenfabrik Reinhausen (MR), the parent company of Reinhausen India, is headquartered in Regensburg, Germany, and has over 150 years of experience in power transformer regulation. Its portfolio includes tap changers, diagnostic tools, grid automation systems, and digital solutions for transformer monitoring and optimisation.
