TAFE, a tractor manufacturer based in Chennai, has inaugurated its new Integrated Assembly Plant in Aguascalientes, Mexico. The facility was opened in the presence of María Teresa Jiménez Esquivel, Governor of Aguascalientes, Pankaj Sharma, Ambassador of India to Mexico, and Sandeep Sinha, CEO of TAFE.

The inauguration ceremony was also attended by Leonardo Montañez Castro, Mayor of Aguascalientes, and Esaú Garza de Vega, Secretary of Economic Development, Science and Technology of the Government of Aguascalientes. Delegates and invitees toured the facility as part of the event.

TAFE (Tractors and Farm Equipment Limited), headquartered in Chennai, is a tractor manufacturer with major operations across several states in India. The company produces more than 180,000 tractors annually, supplying both domestic and export markets.

TAFE operates multiple production facilities in India. Its headquarters and original manufacturing base are in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. A large tractor production site is located in Madurai, Tamil Nadu. In Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh (Mandideep), the company manufactures Eicher-brand tractors, while the Doddaballapur plant in Karnataka produces TAFE-branded tractors. The facility in Alwar, Rajasthan, focuses on engines and tractors in collaboration with international partners. In Parwanoo, Himachal Pradesh, TAFE runs a transmissions division for gears and components, and in Kelambakkam, Tamil Nadu, the company operates another gears division.

The company has a combined production capacity of more than 180,000 tractors per year in India. Capacity at the Bhopal and Doddaballapur plants has been expanded by 30,000 units each in recent years. Several factories operate at high utilisation levels to meet demand in India and abroad.

TAFE manufactures tractors ranging from 18 to 100 horsepower. In addition to tractors, its divisions produce engines, gears, hydraulic systems and other agricultural equipment components through subsidiaries such as TAFE Motors and Tractors Limited (TMTL). The facilities are equipped with research and development units and prototype testing labs to support new model development and compliance with emission standards.

TAFE is a shareholder in AGCO Corporation (USA) and serves as a production partner for international tractor brands, including Massey Ferguson, Eicher, TAFE and IMT. The company exports to more than 80 countries, tailoring products to meet both Indian and overseas regulatory requirements.
