UFlex Ltd is set to invest over Rs 750 crore to establish a woven polypropylene (WPP) bags manufacturing plant in Mexico and a recycling facility in Noida, with both projects expected to be operational in the financial year 2025-26.
The company’s board has approved an investment of $50 million (approximately Rs 435 crore) for the Mexico plant, which will produce WPP bags for the North and South American pet food market. The facility will have an annual production capacity of 80 million bags.
In India, UFlex is investing Rs 317.11 crore in a recycling plant at Noida. The facility will consist of two units: a post-consumer recycled (PCR) PET unit with a processing capacity of 36,000 metric tonnes per annum (MTPA) and a mixed plastic waste (MLP) unit with a capacity of 3,600 MTPA. The company stated that this expansion aligns with India’s extended producer responsibility (EPR) legislation for plastic waste management.
Both projects are scheduled to commence operations in 2025-26.
