Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers Limited (GRSE) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Centre of Excellence in Maritime and Shipbuilding (CEMS) during India Maritime Week to strengthen cooperation in maritime education and training. The agreement aims to enhance industry–academia collaboration and support skill development initiatives in shipbuilding and related disciplines.
According to the announcement, the MoU was signed by Capt. (IN) P. Sunil Kumar (Retd.), Director (Corporate Planning & Personnel) of GRSE, and Praveen M., Managing Director of Indian Register of Shipping (IRCLASS) and Director of CEMS. The signing ceremony was attended by Cmde P. R. Hari, IN (Retd.), Chairman and Managing Director of GRSE, and Arun Sharma, Executive Chairman of IRCLASS and Chairman of CEMS, along with other senior officials.
The collaboration is intended to facilitate the exchange of technical expertise, joint research projects, and the development of training programmes tailored to the needs of India’s shipbuilding and maritime industries. GRSE stated that the initiative will contribute to fostering innovation and capacity building within the broader maritime ecosystem.
