Rosti India, part of the Sweden-based Rosti Group, has completed the first build of a complex module, marking a major milestone in the lead-up to full-scale production at its new injection moulding facility in Sriperumbudur, Tamil Nadu, scheduled to open in January 2026.

According to company information, the initial build involved one of the most complex assemblies undertaken by the Group to date, comprising more than 100 plastic components and over 200 additional parts including printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs), motors, and optical sensors. The module was developed through coordinated collaboration among design, engineering, and production teams across Rosti sites in Suzhou, China, and India.

The teams worked jointly to redesign and optimise key components, improving both reliability and manufacturability. The first build met all functional testing requirements and provided data for process refinement ahead of upcoming production trials. Further assembly tests using fully Rosti-manufactured components are planned for later in 2025, leading up to full production at the new facility.

The factory is intended to balance the Group’s regional manufacturing footprint by complementing its existing operations in China and Malaysia. The company said the expansion will leverage India’s industrial ecosystem and engineering expertise to reduce lead times, optimise production resources, and enhance service to regional and global customers.

Sustainability is a core aspect of the new facility’s design. Rosti India has incorporated energy-efficient lighting, water recycling systems, and waste reduction measures. The company also plans to integrate renewable energy sources and responsible material sourcing practices to minimise environmental impact while maintaining production efficiency and quality standards.

Equipped with advanced injection moulding systems and staffed by a locally trained workforce, the plant will add new capacity to Rosti’s global network and strengthen the Group’s supply chain resilience.

Rosti Group, headquartered in Malmö, Sweden, provides integrated plastic injection moulding and contract manufacturing solutions for sectors including consumer goods, medical devices, and packaging. The company operates manufacturing and technology centres across Europe, Asia, and the Americas.
