PTC Industries Limited, a manufacturer of high-precision castings and advanced materials for critical sectors, has commenced a large expansion of its production facility in Mehsana, Gujarat. The project will add more than 50,000 square feet of shop floor area on the plant’s 17-acre campus and is intended to increase machining and casting capacity over the coming years.
The expansion includes the installation of advanced manufacturing equipment, robotic systems and automated fettling technologies designed to improve throughput, process repeatability and product quality. The company expects the enlarged infrastructure to support a multi-year increase in output as new systems are commissioned in phases.
A groundbreaking ceremony for the project was held at the site, marking the start of construction activities. The company stated that the added space will enable higher levels of automation and streamlined production flows, supporting long-term growth in domestic and export demand for precision castings.
The Mehsana unit currently manufactures stainless steel and special alloy castings for a range of industrial applications. The new investment is positioned to complement the company’s ongoing development of its Strategic Materials Technology Complex (SMTC), a programme that aims to strengthen capabilities in aerospace-grade titanium and superalloy components, near-net-shape manufacturing and expanded foundry and machining operations.
In a separate development two days earlier, a delegation from Airbus visited PTC’s and Aerolloy’s manufacturing facilities in Lucknow. The group included executives overseeing materials procurement, supplier development, and engineering for India and South Asia. The visit focused on PTC’s integrated operations spanning strategic materials, high-precision castings, and advanced aerospace components.
The engagement reflected India’s increasing role in Airbus’s global supply network and pointed to potential opportunities for future collaboration. PTC said further interactions with Airbus procurement leadership are expected.
PTC Industries Limited supplies precision castings and machined components for industrial, aerospace and defence sectors. The company also operates Aerolloy Technologies Limited, its wholly owned subsidiary engaged in the production of titanium and superalloy castings for aerospace applications.
