Quintrans, a deep tech engineering startup developing direct-drive linear motion systems for industrial automation, robotics, and equipment manufacturing, has raised USD 750,000 in a pre-seed funding round led by Capital-A. The funding is aimed at supporting manufacturing scale-up, research and development, and team expansion as the company prepares for commercial rollout.
The round also saw participation from Sumeet Kabra of RR Global, SanchiConnect, AIC-Pinnacle, and other strategic partners, along with continued ecosystem support from IIMA Ventures. The company said the capital will be used to establish an in-house manufacturing and advanced testing facility in Pune, accelerate research across electromagnetic actuation technologies, and build its core engineering and operations team.
Founded in 2021, Quintrans is working on electromagnetic and electromechanical linear motion components designed to deliver frictionless movement, high-speed operation, and micron-level precision. The company focuses on direct-drive linear motion systems that integrate hardware and control electronics developed internally, allowing customers to deploy complete and integrated motion solutions.
Quintrans stated that its design and manufacturing model is intended to improve cost efficiency, enable tailored deployments, and provide assured service support. By retaining control over key engineering elements, the company aims to address performance, reliability, and integration requirements across industrial automation and robotics applications.
The startup has set a long-term production target of nearly 500,000 actuators annually by 2030. The planned Pune facility is expected to support both manufacturing and advanced testing as the company moves from development to early commercial stages.
“At Quintrans, our aim is simple: to build dependable linear motion systems here in India that industries can trust. We are taking an engineering-first approach, developing the hardware and control electronics in-house so customers get a complete, integrated solution. With this funding, we can advance our development work, set up our manufacturing lines, and take the next steps towards commercial readiness,” said Pranay Luniya, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Quintrans.
Ankit Kedia, Founder and Lead Investor at Capital-A, said that motion systems remain a critical but under-innovated segment, particularly in emerging markets. He said Quintrans has demonstrated early technical and commercial progress and could emerge as a supplier in a segment traditionally served by established global companies.
Quintrans is part of MaXcel, a hardware and industrial technology accelerator operated by Capital-A and SanchiConnect. The programme supports early-stage companies working on industrial and manufacturing-focused technologies.
Quintrans is an India-based engineering startup focused on developing direct-drive linear motion systems for industrial automation, robotics, and equipment manufacturing applications. Founded by Pranay Luniya, Kartik Kulkarni, Aniruddha Atigre, and Prasanna Kadambi, alumni of MIT World Peace University, Quintrans is developing advanced electromagnetic and electromechanical components designed to enable frictionless movement, high-speed operation, and micron-level accuracy for industrial applications.
