Pidilite Industries Limited will establish a new adhesives and waterproofing manufacturing facility in Punjab with a proposed investment of INR 3 billion, as announced by Punjab Cabinet Minister for Industry and Commerce, Investment Promotion, Power and NRI Affairs, Sanjeev Arora. The project is planned as part of the company’s expansion of its manufacturing footprint in northern India to support regional demand.
Pidilite Industries Limited will locate the proposed facility at Village Majri Faqiran and Village Sohne Majra in Sub-Tehsil Ghanaur, Rajpura, in Patiala district. The project will be spread over approximately 31 acres and will focus on the mixing and blending of water-based adhesives and waterproofing products for the domestic market, with potential to serve neighbouring export markets in the future.
According to the announcement, the facility will have a total proposed production capacity of 200,000 metric tonnes per annum. This will include 140,000 metric tonnes of water-based adhesives and 60,000 metric tonnes of waterproofing products. The unit will be equipped with modern process equipment, utilities and dedicated environmental, health and safety systems aligned with industry practices.
The project is expected to generate around 300 employment opportunities, including direct and indirect jobs across skilled, semi-skilled and supervisory roles. The development is intended to support industrial activity in the region while contributing to local employment generation.
The investment will be funded entirely through internal accruals, and commercial production is targeted to begin by December 2027. The proposed timeline reflects the company’s plan to phase capacity addition in line with anticipated market demand in northern India.
Pidilite Industries Limited was established in 1969 and operates in consumer and specialty chemicals.
