ArcelorMittal Building Solutions India inaugurated its first manufacturing plant in India on 12 February 2026 at Vile Bhagad, Maharashtra, marking the company’s entry into local production of building envelope solutions. The facility, located about 100 kilometres from Mumbai, was developed as a greenfield project and will function as a downstream finishing unit.

The project was initiated at the beginning of 2025 and completed within a year. The plant consumes high-quality steel produced by the upstream assets of AM/NS India, the 60/40 joint venture between ArcelorMittal and Nippon Steel, linking it to the group’s integrated steel operations in the country.

“This milestone provides us with a strong foundation to accelerate our journey and grow leaps and bounds in dynamic growth markets like India in the years ahead,” said Amit Kumar, CEO Cluster Asia & Steel Division.
