INDEX Machine Tools India Pvt. Ltd., a subsidiary of INDEX-Werke GmbH, a German manufacturer of CNC turning machines, opened a new branch with an integrated Technology Center in the Aerospace Park in Bengaluru on 27 February 2026, expanding its presence in the Indian market. The facility includes office space for sales, technology, application, customer service and administration, as well as a showroom with demonstration machines.

INDEX has been active in India with sales and service operations for more than 25 years. The company established INDEX Machine Tools India Pvt. Ltd. in 2023 to address demand from sectors including automotive and supplier industries, aerospace, mechanical engineering, electronics, and hydraulic and fluid technology.

“The Indian market is of great importance for the growth strategy of the INDEX Group. With our new Technology Center, we can now support our customers even more comprehensively – from consulting and test machining through to technical support. This significantly shortens decision-making paths and creates the basis for even closer partnerships with Indian industrial companies,” said Wilson Thomas, Managing Director of INDEX Machine Tools India Pvt. Ltd.

“The opening of the Technology Center in Bangalore is a sign of our confidence in the Indian market and of our conviction that genuine customer proximity cannot be replaced by video conferences. With six production sites and a global presence, we can combine global expertise with local competence – this is exactly what this new location enables,” said Dirk Prust, Chairman of the Management Board of INDEX Group.

The new Technology Center is located about 15 minutes from Bengaluru Airport and is intended to strengthen customer support and enable faster service response times in India. The showroom will be used for customer events, test machining and product presentations.

The company said the new location expands its engagement with industrial customers in India. The product portfolio includes multi-spindle automatic lathes, universal turning machines, sliding-headstock automatic lathes, turn-mill centres and production turning machines, alongside application consulting, process optimisation, automation solutions and services.

INDEX-Werke GmbH, founded in 1914 in Esslingen, Germany, manufactures CNC turning machines under the INDEX and TRAUB brands. The company operates six production sites and twelve international sales and service companies, with a presence at around 80 locations worldwide, and competes in the multi-spindle and turn-mill centre markets with companies such as DMG Mori and Mazak.
