Lokesh Machines Limited has received a supply order from the Directorate General of Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India. The order is valued at INR 95.0 million and involves the supply of 9x19mm submachine guns (SMGs) along with accessories, with execution scheduled within 180 days from the date of the Letter of Award.

The company said in a stock exchange filing that the total contract value amounts to INR 95,001,741, inclusive of all duties and taxes. The order has been classified as a domestic supply contract and does not involve any related party transactions.

The scope of the contract includes the supply of the latest SMG (9x19mm carbine) along with associated accessories. The Directorate General of SSB is the awarding authority for the contract, and the order is categorised as domestic.

The order follows a series of defence-related developments for the company in recent months. On 12 February 2026, Lokesh Machines secured an order from Assam Rifles for 1,013 ASMI carbines, expanding its presence in paramilitary forces. Earlier, on 5 January 2026, the company received a contract valued at INR 220.0 million from Advanced Weapons and Equipment India (AWEIL) for 9x19mm sub-assemblies.

In August 2025, the company developed a 7.62x51mm belt-fed medium machine gun (MMG), which is 25 percent lighter than existing versions used by the Indian Army. The MMG is designed to fire 800 rounds per minute and has an effective range of 1,800 metres, indicating the company’s expansion into medium and heavy arms.

The company is also developing a vendor park around its Medchal facility to support a network of micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) for the production of high-precision small arms components.

In November 2025, Lokesh Machines experienced a temporary credit rating downgrade and stock volatility following its inclusion in a United States Treasury list related to secondary trade, a matter the company is currently addressing through legal channels.

Lokesh Machines Limited is engaged in the manufacture of machine tools and auto components, with manufacturing units located in Hyderabad, Telangana, and Pune, Maharashtra.
