MRF Limited has entered into a non-binding memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Government of Tamil Nadu to facilitate the establishment of a greenfield manufacturing facility for automotive tyres and allied products in Sivaganga district. The company said in a stock exchange filing dated 4 March 2026 that the MoU was executed through the state government’s nodal agency, Guidance, to support the development of the project. The agreement is non-binding and is intended to facilitate the process of setting up the manufacturing facility.

According to the filing, the proposed project envisages an estimated investment of about INR 53 billion over a period of 12 years. The facility is expected to generate direct employment for approximately 1,000 persons once implemented.

The company also stated that the MoU is subject to several conditions, including the sanction of a customised incentive package and infrastructure support, including land, from the Government of Tamil Nadu. The project will also require statutory approvals under applicable laws before implementation can proceed.
