Polaris Smart Metering, a provider of smart energy metering solutions, has inaugurated a new smart meter manufacturing facility in the VKI Industrial Area, Jaipur, Rajasthan. The plant, which was officially opened on June 15, 2025, will expand the company’s production capacity from 2 million to 5 million smart meters annually.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by the company’s Managing Director, Chief Marketing Officer, Chief Human Resources Officer, Manufacturing Head, Engineering Head, Marketing Head, and the Manufacturing Cross-Functional Team. The event included a traditional puja and havan.
Polaris Smart Metering, formerly known as Grampower, is headquartered in Jaipur, India. The company provides end-to-end smart energy metering solutions, including smart electricity meters, wireless communication technologies such as Sub-GHz RF Mesh, WiFi, and NBIoT/4G, along with an AI-powered software suite for real-time energy management. Polaris also offers financing for large-scale projects and system integration services.
Polaris was acquired by I Squared Capital in February 2023 and has since expanded its market presence, securing major smart metering projects in Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, and Manipur. The company is also supplying 1 million smart gas meters to THINK Gas as part of a contract announced in February 2025.
