Gala Precision Engineering, a manufacturer of precision components, plans to invest a total of INR 481 million to expand its manufacturing operations. The company is allocating INR 370 million for a new facility at Vallam, near Chennai, Tamil Nadu, and INR 111 million to ramp up capacity at its existing plant in Wada, near Mumbai, Maharashtra.

The Vallam plant, located at SIPCOT Sriperumbudur, is expected to have a proposed capacity of 4,600 metric tonnes and cover an area of 4,000 square meters. According to the company, commercial production at this facility is scheduled to commence in June 2025. The strategic location near customers, suppliers, and local job work vendors is intended to support efficient operations.

Gala’s Wada plant, near Mumbai, currently operates with a land area of 28,800 square meters. It houses various manufacturing processes, including tool design and development, blanking and forming, coiling, heat treatment, shot peening, grinding, thread rolling, and CNC machining.

As of FY2025, Gala Precision reported an installed capacity of 225.5 million units for Disc Springs and Strip Springs (DSS) with an 85 percent utilization rate, 20.9 million units for Coil and Spiral Springs (CSS) with a 78 percent utilization rate, and 420,000 units for Special Fastening Solutions (SFS) with a 70 percent utilization rate.

The company aims to expand manufacturing capacity at its existing locations and add additional strategically located facilities in the future. Gala Precision also plans to strengthen its core capabilities in precision engineering and leverage in-house design and development to grow its product offerings.

Gala Precision Engineering manufactures precision components, including high tensile fasteners, disc and strip springs, coil and spiral springs, and custom-made fastening solutions. The company serves industries such as renewable energy, industrials, and mobility, and exports to over 25 countries.
