Azad Engineering has inaugurated a 7,200 square metre lean manufacturing facility at its Centre of Excellence and Innovation Centre in Tunikibollaram, Hyderabad. The facility has been established to meet capacity commitments for Siemens Energy.

The facility currently employs over 150 skilled professionals and is expected to scale up to around 230 by the end of 2025. The site is integrated with Azad’s existing innovation and excellence centre and is designed for high-precision component manufacturing using lean principles. This is the third dedicated manufacturing facility opened by the company in 2025.

Azad Engineering’s collaboration with Siemens Energy began in 2012 with the supply of rotating airfoils for SGT 400 machines. Over the past 12 years, the scope has expanded to include delivery of airfoils and critical machining parts across Siemens Energy’s supply chain. The company is also a participant in Siemens Energy’s Lion’s Share programme.

“This opening today is a unique milestone in our collaboration between Azad Engineering and Siemens Energy,” said Andreas Schmidt, VP Procurement SE GS Central. “It’s now up to us to build on what we achieved in the last 13 years and go together to the next level.”

“The inauguration of this exclusive lean manufacturing facility symbolizes the deep trust and collaboration we’ve built with Siemens Energy over the past 12+ years. From our initial partnership supplying airfoils for SGT 400 machines in 2012 to becoming an integral part of their Lion’s Share program, this journey reflects our shared commitment to engineering excellence and innovation,” said Rakesh Chopdar, Chairman and CEO of Azad Engineering.

The facility forms part of Azad’s broader strategy to create dedicated manufacturing capacity for global OEM partners across aerospace, defence, energy, and oil and gas sectors at its Centre of Excellence and Innovation Centre.

Founded in 2008 by Rakesh Chopdar, Azad Engineering manufactures highly engineered, complex components for the aerospace and defence, energy, oil and gas, and industrial technology sectors. The company supplies OEMs in 17 countries and operates as a Tier 1 supplier.
