Trac Precision Solutions, a subsidiary of PTC Industries Group, has announced capital investments aimed at expanding its manufacturing capabilities for aerospace and power generation components. The company has introduced new equipment, including Sodick Electrical Discharge Machining (EDM) systems, Makino Deep Hole Drilling machines, and a Modula automated storage and retrieval system, to support production of turbine blades and vanes.
The Sodick EDM machines include high-volume precision systems, large-format systems for complex parts, and specialised wire EDM systems for internal tooling and electrode manufacturing. These systems are intended to enhance the accuracy and repeatability of intricate cooling passageways and geometries used in advanced aero-engines and industrial gas turbines.
In addition, Makino deep hole drilling machines have been ordered to enable the creation of cooling passages within turbine components, a process considered essential for high-performance engines. The newly installed Modula storage and retrieval system is designed to improve space utilisation, workflow efficiency, and traceability in production.
“This kind of specialised technology represents the pinnacle of innovation in its field, highly sought after and recognised as industry-leading,” said Liam Bevington, Managing Director of Trac Precision Solutions. “Through continued development of our capabilities, Trac is uniquely positioned to offer complete solutions for some of the most demanding blade and vane applications in the world, supporting both current programs and the next generation of engine designs.”
“Our vision is to create a globally relevant ecosystem of advanced manufacturing capabilities. These investments at Trac reflect a commitment to supporting the world’s journey toward technological self-reliance, while strengthening our group’s position as a strategic partner for next-generation engine programs,” said Sachin Agarwal, Chairman and Managing Director of PTC Industries.
