JHS Svendgaard Laboratories Ltd. will invest INR 250 million to construct a new manufacturing unit at its existing site in Kala Amb, Himachal Pradesh. The project involves building a 100,000-square-foot facility on the company’s current five-acre land parcel and is intended to expand production capacity for specialised oral care products.
The expansion is planned as a two-year project and is expected to be fully operational by 2027. The new unit will incorporate additional manufacturing equipment and technologies aimed at supporting high-growth product categories and meeting increasing customer demand.
JHS Svendgaard Laboratories Ltd., an Indian manufacturer of oral care products, said the investment is being undertaken in response to Letters of Intent received from customers seeking additional capacity and new product offerings. The company indicated that the expansion is aligned with its longer-term strategy to scale operations and support growth in domestic and international markets.
The new facility will be developed at Kala Amb, where JHS already operates manufacturing operations. Once commissioned and operating at full utilisation, the expanded capacity is expected to generate annual revenue of up to INR 1 billion. The company also stated that the project is likely to create approximately 500 to 600 direct jobs in the region.
JHS continues to add new products to its portfolio, including Anchor-free toothbrushes, dental floss sets, ultra-soft Butter on Gums toothbrushes, and products under the Gentle Giant and Dynamic Luminance ranges. The company expects the new unit to support these and other upcoming product lines that require specialised manufacturing processes.
Nikhil Nanda, Founder and Managing Director of JHS Svendgaard Laboratories Ltd., said the investment is being undertaken in response to customer demand and is focused on strengthening the company’s manufacturing capabilities. He added that the new infrastructure is intended to align JHS’s operations with global requirements for advanced technologies and support its objective of offering a comprehensive oral care manufacturing platform for brands worldwide.
The company noted that the Kala Amb expansion will strengthen its ability to serve existing customers while also enabling entry into new segments that require higher levels of manufacturing capability. The investment forms part of JHS’s broader plan to enhance operational scale and product breadth through incremental capacity additions.
JHS Svendgaard Laboratories Ltd. manufactures a range of oral care products, including toothbrushes and related dental hygiene items, and supplies to both domestic and international brands from its facilities in India.
