NSL’s integrated steel facility in Nagarnar has reported a cumulative production of over 2 million tonnes of hot metal, moving closer to its designated operational capacity. The facility’s blast furnace, with a 4506 cubic meter capacity, recently achieved a production rate of 7268 tonnes per day, according to a company press release.

Amitava Mukherjee, who holds the additional charge of CMD, acknowledged the achievement, attributing the milestone to the team’s efforts at the facility.

The plant has been gradually ramping up production, with daily hot metal output now set at 7000 tonnes, noted K Praveen Kumar, Executive Director & Head of NSL Steel Plant, Nagarnar. NSL achieved its first million tonnes of hot metal production in 226 days and completed its second million in 204 days despite recent external challenges.

The Ma Danteshwari blast furnace at Nagarnar is designed for a daily production of 9500 tonnes of hot metal, with further output increases anticipated in line with rising market demand and HR coil production.
