AM Green has announced that its Kakinada Cluster has joined the World Economic Forum’s (WEF) “Transitioning Industrial Clusters Initiative.” The initiative aims to foster collaboration among industrial clusters and public institutions to advance decarbonization and sustainable development.
The Kakinada Cluster involves an initial investment exceeding $3 billion and is expected to generate over 10,000 direct and indirect jobs. The cluster is planned to serve industries such as housing, construction, and equipment manufacturing while focusing on reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
Cluster operations are projected to commence in 2026, with zero CO2 equivalent emissions at the outset. Upstream ecosystem investments are estimated to reach $15 billion. Key outputs include green ammonia, green hydrogen, sustainable aviation fuel, and green olefins—compounds critical for the energy transition.
AM Green targets a net-zero capacity by 2030 and plans to establish a green ammonia hub at the cluster, with a projected annual production capacity of five million tonnes by 2030.
This development positions the Kakinada Cluster as a contributor to the WEF’s industrial decarbonization efforts, enabling the exchange of knowledge and resources among global industrial clusters.
