Technip Energies has outlined plans to expand its operations in India, including launching a new research and development laboratory in Chennai in 2025. The laboratory will strengthen the company’s R&D capabilities in the region, according to Chief Operating Officer Loïc Chapuis, speaking at a recent capital markets day event.

The company also announced its intention to open an office in Ahmedabad, marking its first presence in the city. This move aims to bolster staff resources in India, where the company employs approximately 4,100 people, representing 24% of its global workforce.

In addition, significant upgrades are planned for the company’s manufacturing facility in Dahej. These enhancements include the construction of a captive jetty, set to become operational in the second quarter of 2025, and the development of additional land and facilities, scheduled for 2025-26.

Technip Energies is also establishing a center for “Green H2 & Power-to-X” in Delhi. The center will focus on the emerging market for green hydrogen and green ammonia, targeting project execution, operations, and related services.

The company has been active in India for over five decades, primarily focusing on downstream projects. Its expansion aligns with India’s efforts to increase its non-fossil fuel capacity by 50 GW annually, contributing to its target of 500 GW by 2030.
