The Uttar Pradesh government has allocated 12,513 acres of state land for industrial purposes across various districts, with the Uttar Pradesh State Industrial Development Authority (UPSIDA) overseeing the project. The initiative is intended to attract investment and encourage industrialization within the state, with a portion of this land organized into a comprehensive land bank to facilitate large-scale industrial projects.
As part of this plan, 83 acres in the villages of Khiwai and Khedi Kala in Meerut’s Sardhana tehsil have been designated for industrial development. UPSIDA’s strategy includes categorizing land parcels by size to accommodate various industrial requirements. Currently, 2,842 acres are in parcels of over 100 acres, 2,688 acres in parcels between 50 and 100 acres, and 6,983 acres in parcels sized from 15 to 50 acres.
The government also aims to improve connectivity by developing industrial corridors along six expressways in the state. UPSIDA has been instructed to make the land available to investors as part of the state’s Industrial Investment and Employment Promotion Policy. The policy seeks to foster industrial growth and support employment generation through expanded industrial infrastructure.
