Godrej & Boyce’s aerospace division has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Aeronautical Development Agency (ADA) for the development of flight control actuators for India’s Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft (AMCA) programme. The announcement was made at Aero India 2025 in Bengaluru.

Under the agreement, Godrej & Boyce will handle the development of flight control actuators, covering precision manufacturing, procurement of aerospace-grade raw materials, assembly and testing, and the creation of test rigs for qualification tests.

The company has been working with ADA for over two decades on components for flight-critical DDV-based servo actuators and related functional elements.

The aerospace division is shifting from “Built to Print” to “Built to Spec” capabilities and is incorporating technologies such as 3D printing to streamline manufacturing and design processes. The company stated that additive manufacturing allows for the production of complex components in a single process, reducing traditional production stages and improving efficiency.

Maneck Behramkamdin, Senior Vice President and Business Head of the aerospace division, said the company aims to enhance India’s manufacturing capabilities in the aerospace sector.

The MoU is part of broader efforts to support national defence programmes.
