Ashirvad Pipes, the Indian unit of Belgium-based Aliaxis, plans to invest approximately INR 4 billion to establish two greenfield manufacturing plants in Chennai and Hyderabad by the financial year 2027. The expansion is aimed at increasing the company’s production capacity from 300,000 tonnes to 400,000 tonnes annually.

According to Partha Sarathi Basu, Managing Director of Ashirvad Pipes, the Hyderabad plant is expected to be operational in FY26, followed by the Chennai plant in FY27. The company currently operates seven manufacturing plants in India, including three in Bengaluru.

India’s pipes, fittings, and water tanks market is estimated at INR 800 billion, with 60% of the market categorized as organized. Ashirvad Pipes holds a 12% share in the organized sector and has a market share of around 50% in southern India. The company aims to increase its national market share to 18% by FY27.

Ashirvad Pipes reported revenue of INR 65 billion in FY24 and is targeting INR 90 billion by FY27. Approximately half of its total revenue comes from the CPVC segment.

The company has also signed a memorandum of understanding with Jadavpur University for research in new molecule development. India currently contributes about 17% to Aliaxis’ global revenue.
