Mobility Solutions Limited (MSL), a JCBL Group company, has expanded its manufacturing facility in Batauli, Punjab, to enhance its production of composite solutions for industries such as defence, aerospace, infrastructure, railways, and automotive. The 41,700-square-meter facility, with 12,000 square meters of covered area, began commercial production in December 2024 and is expected to reach full operational capacity by July 2025.
The expansion extends MSL’s manufacturing capabilities beyond Glass-Reinforced Plastic (GRP) to include a broader range of composite materials. The facility currently employs over 150 personnel and is strategically located near other JCBL Group manufacturing hubs, benefiting from access to skilled labor and transportation networks.
MSL plans to establish a Centre of Excellence at the site, integrating research and development, tooling, prototyping, manufacturing, and testing. The company aims to triple its production capacity to meet increasing domestic and international demand. Environmental initiatives, including renewable energy systems, water conservation measures, and waste reduction programs, are being implemented at the facility.
Founded in 1998, MSL initially focused on manufacturing sub-assemblies such as seats, windows, bus components, and FRP/GRP parts. The company has since expanded to develop components for rolling stock, including front masks, interior paneling, seats, window frames, underframes, side walls, and roof panels. MSL also produces products for industrial and agricultural sectors.
The JCBL Group, established in 1989, operates across multiple sectors, including mobility applications, defence, railway and bus components, agriculture, finance, and international business. The group reported a revenue of $206.02 million in the fiscal year 2023-2024 and has partnerships with companies such as Daimler, Toyota, and Harley-Davidson.
In 2023, JCBL initiated several projects, including the production of components for Vande Bharat trains, execution of the Mumbai Metro project, and delivery of the Tren Maya for Mexico. The company is also developing a new plant dedicated to fiberglass and sheet metal production to support its train business.
In the defence sector, JCBL is collaborating with international partners to develop products such as remote control weapon systems and paradrop systems. The company has secured an order from BEML to manufacture 50-ton trailers for the defence forces, with production underway and deliveries expected to commence next year.
MSL’s client portfolio includes companies like Alstom, Bombardier, GE, and Wabtec, as well as Indian Railways and Metro systems. The company is also involved in producing interior components for Vande Bharat trains, metal fabrication for railways and infrastructure, and bus seats and windows.
