Grundfos has introduced the CUE 120, a variable frequency drive (VFD) designed and engineered in India for local market needs. The CUE 120, built for motors up to 22 kW, aims to deliver precise pump control and improve energy efficiency by offering application-specific settings.

The CUE 120 was launched at Plumbex India 2025 in New Delhi, alongside the Hydro Multi-E CME.

Grundfos stated that approximately 70% of VFDs currently operate with default factory settings, often leading to inefficient energy usage and higher operational costs. The CUE 120 seeks to address these challenges by enabling more tailored control and enhanced system performance.

“The Grundfos CUE 120 is more than just a product; it embodies our commitment to innovation and sustainability. Designed for India, it empowers industries, buildings, and communities with smarter, energy-efficient pumping solutions, enabling a greener future,” said Usha Subramaniam, Country President India.

Compatible with all Grundfos pump ranges, the CUE 120 is intended to support better energy management, reduce operational costs, and improve system reliability. Shankar Rajaram, Head of Sales, IND, INDO, said, “The Grundfos CUE 120 was born from a clear vision—to create a cost-effective and accessible drive tailored to the Indian market. Through deep market analysis, we recognised the need for a drive that is simple to install, operate, and control.”

Grundfos also indicated plans to expand the kW capacity of the CUE 120 in the future to increase flexibility and scalability.

Grundfos is a pump and water solutions company providing energy and water-efficient systems for applications in water utilities, water treatment, industries, and buildings. The company focuses on addressing challenges related to water and climate through its product offerings.
