RENK Gears Private Ltd. (RENK India), a subsidiary of RENK Group AG, and Quantum Systems GmbH have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to collaborate on manufacturing, research and development, and software-related activities in India. The agreement was signed in Bengaluru on April 15, 2025, with the aim of expanding both companies’ operations in the region.
Under the agreement, the two companies plan to cooperate in production, software development, digitalization, and R&D. As part of its ongoing expansion in India, RENK is building a new production facility of approximately 7,000 square meters for manufacturing gearboxes, slide bearings, and couplings for military and civilian use. The site is expected to be operational in 2025.
Quantum Systems, which manufactures unmanned aerial systems, intends to establish a local presence in India for production, maintenance, and research functions. Martin Karkour, Chief Sales Officer at Quantum Systems, said: “We are very proud to be expanding our activities in India with a local presence and a great partnership with RENK. With one of our biggest fleets already flying in the country, we now want to take the next step by adding local production, maintenance, and R&D.”
RENK and Quantum Systems cited India’s growing defence and infrastructure sectors as key factors behind the move. The agreement is expected to facilitate technology transfer and local manufacturing capabilities for both firms.
RENK Group AG reported revenue of EUR 926 million in the fiscal year 2023 and is listed on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
