Electric two-wheeler manufacturer River EV has announced a major retail and service network expansion across India, following reported revenues of INR 100 crore for the financial year 2024–25. The Bengaluru-based company, which sold nearly 5,000 scooters during the year, aims to be present in over 100 cities by 2026.

As part of its expansion strategy, River plans to increase its southern India footprint from 25 to 60 stores by March 2026. In North India, the company will open 20 outlets across Delhi, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Punjab by the end of the current fiscal year. An additional 25 stores are planned in Maharashtra and Gujarat, along with 11 outlets in eastern states including Odisha, West Bengal, Chhattisgarh, Bihar, Jharkhand, and Assam.

“We’ve been very deliberate about getting the retail format right — we won’t open an outlet unless there’s a fully functional service center with it. That’s been our approach across Bangalore, Kerala, everywhere,” said Aravind Mani, CEO and Co-founder of River.

River currently operates stores in cities including Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai, Hubli, Visakhapatnam, Kochi, Coimbatore, Vellore, Tirupati, and Mysore. Upcoming locations include Trivandrum, Vijayawada, and Pune.

In March 2025, River reported monthly sales of 1,000 units. Its first product, the Indie electric scooter, was launched two years ago. The company is also planning to enter the Sri Lankan market by the end of this calendar year but has stated that its primary focus remains on domestic operations.

River EV is a Bengaluru-based electric two-wheeler manufacturer established in 2021. The company produces and sells the Indie electric scooter and operates through a mix of company-owned outlets and dealerships. Focused on expanding its retail and service footprint, River EV has outlined plans to scale its presence to over 100 cities in India by 2026. Alongside domestic growth, the company is exploring selective international markets, starting with Sri Lanka. River’s operations include product development, manufacturing, and distribution, with an emphasis on integrating service facilities at each retail location.
