Suprajit Engineering has entered into a licensing and technology transfer agreement with Blubrake S.p.A., an Italian company focused on Anti-lock Braking Systems (ABS). Under the terms of the agreement, Suprajit will develop and manufacture Blubrake’s patented ABS technology for non-pedal-based vehicles in India, China, South-East Asia, and Brazil.

The agreement gives Suprajit exclusive rights to produce and supply ABS units using Blubrake’s design and technology. The ABS systems will not be for electric bicycles, which remain Blubrake’s core market in Europe, but rather for other vehicle types in the specified regions.

According to Suprajit, Blubrake’s ABS architecture is designed to reduce complexity and integrate key features aimed at improving braking systems. The move aligns with Suprajit’s plan to expand its presence in the brake systems segment.

Fabio Todeschini, founder of Blubrake, was involved in the development of the technology that Suprajit will now manufacture. Ajith Rai, Founder and Chairman of Suprajit, said, “Fabio and his team have built a product that successfully competed against the best ABS systems in Europe so I must thank Fabio for trusting that Suprajit is the best platform to launch his innovative ABS across multiple geographies and markets. ABS is safety critical and is rightly becoming more commonplace on vehicles today.”
