Sysmex Corporation has commenced full-scale operations at its new manufacturing base in Sanand II Industrial Estate, Gujarat, India, in April 2025. The facility is producing both diagnostic reagents and instruments, beginning with the XQ™-Series Automated Hematology Analyzer (XQ-320), intended for the Indian market.
The facility covers a site area of 18,100 square meters with a floor space of 10,600 square meters. Sysmex has invested approximately 3 billion JPY in the project. The company has established a mass production system by sourcing local materials that meet its quality standards and training local staff. The manufacturing base is equipped with a zero liquid discharge system for wastewater treatment.
The XQ-320 model is a 3-part WBC differential hematology analyzer targeted at small and medium-sized medical institutions, particularly in alignment with local public procurement policies. Sysmex stated that it plans to expand production to include additional hematology analyzer models over time.
According to Sysmex, the new site has become the Group’s second-largest overseas production base for instruments after China, and the production capacity for diagnostic reagents at the new facility is approximately four times that of the company’s previous local factory.
Kaoru Asano, President of Sysmex Corporation, said, “Through various initiatives, including the selection of local material suppliers that meet Sysmex’s quality standards and the training of local staff, we have established a mass production system for Indian-made products that assures Sysmex quality.”
