Magellan Aerospace Corporation has signed long-term agreements with Pratt & Whitney Canada involving both contract extensions and new manufacturing program awards. Under the agreements, Magellan will supply complex machined components from its facility in the KIADB Industrial Area, Tumkur, Karnataka, through 2034.

To support the increased scope of work, Magellan will invest in a new machining cell at the Tumkur facility. The site currently manufactures CNC-machined aerostructure and aeroengine assemblies and holds approvals from multiple aerospace manufacturers.

Magellan’s operations in Tumkur are managed through Triveni Aeronautics Pvt. Ltd., a company in which Magellan increased its ownership to 75% in 2019. Triveni, based in Tumkur, specializes in hard metal machining of aeroengine and aerostructure components. Magellan first acquired a 49% share in 2013 and expanded its stake to strengthen its manufacturing capabilities in India. The Tumkur operation forms a key part of Magellan’s broader strategy in the country, alongside its separate 100,000 sq. ft. facility near Bangalore International Airport, which was completed as part of a two-phase development plan.

“These contracts reflect the trust in our ability to deliver exceptional quality, reliability, and performance. We look forward to continuing our successful collaboration,” said Haydn Martin, Vice President of Business Development, Marketing and Contracts at Magellan.

“We look forward in continuing to build upon our special relationship with Pratt & Whitney Canada and continuing to deliver exceptional quality, reliability & performance,” stated Jason Addis, Vice President India Operations at Magellan Aerospace.
