Tenneco, a manufactrurer of auto components, has appointed Mahender Chhabra as Chief Financial Officer for its India operations, effective immediately. Chhabra will oversee financial strategy, operations, compliance, and performance across Tenneco’s businesses in India, including Clean Air, Monroe Ride Solutions (MRS), Champion Ignition, and Powertrain (Bearings and Sealing).
Chhabra will report to Arvind Chandra, Chief Executive Officer of Tenneco India, and will work closely with the company’s newly formed board. “Mahender’s depth of financial expertise and proven leadership will be key as we continue to strengthen our operational excellence and deliver value to customers across the region. His appointment reinforces our commitment to building a strong, future-ready leadership team in India,” said Chandra.
Chhabra brings over 27 years of finance leadership experience. Prior to joining Tenneco, he was the Chief Financial Officer at Motherson Sumi Wiring India Limited. He has also worked in senior finance roles at HMD Mobile India, Microsoft Corporation (India) Private Limited, Bharti Airtel Limited, and Pepsi Foods Limited. His previous roles included responsibilities as group controller and business controller in organisations focused on financial transformation, compliance, and business planning.

Chhabra holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Maharishi Dayanand University and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.
Tenneco’s India operations include 12 manufacturing facilities and 2 R&D centres, serving both domestic and global customers. The company has a growing employee base in India and continues to align its operations with evolving market trends such as supply chain diversification, export growth, and technology adoption.
Tenneco designs, manufactures, and markets automotive products for original equipment and aftermarket customers. The company operates through its DRiV, Performance Solutions, Clean Air, and Powertrain groups, providing technology solutions for light vehicles, commercial trucks, off-highway equipment, industrial applications, motorsport, and the aftermarket.
