Brakes India, a manufacturer of auto components, has commenced construction of a new integrated rubber and hose manufacturing facility at Thervoy Kandigai in Tamil Nadu. The plant will consolidate raw rubber hose production and hose assembly at a single location, with the goal of increasing monthly output and streamlining operations.
Once operational, the facility is expected to raise hose assembly capacity from 1 million units to approximately 1.7 million units per month. Raw hose manufacturing is projected to grow from 450,000 meters to 650,000 meters monthly. The integration of both manufacturing stages is aimed at improving efficiency and reducing dependence on external suppliers.
The company stated that the new integrated facility will help achieve better control over quality and scale operations to meet growing customer demand.
The site was selected with a view to enhancing manufacturing capabilities and improving supply chain responsiveness.
