Everta, a Mumbai-based EV charger manufacturer, plans to scale up production to 3,000 DC fast chargers annually by 2027. The company is investing INR 1.5 billion in a new manufacturing plant in Karnataka to support this expansion, aiming to capture a significant share of India’s EV charging infrastructure market.
Scheduled to become operational by the third quarter of 2025, the Bengaluru facility will produce DC fast chargers with capacities ranging from 60 kW to over 320 kW, suitable for passenger vehicles, buses, trucks, and heavy-duty equipment.
Everta aims for a 15 percent market share in India’s DC charger segment by 2030. Initial shipments from the new plant are expected to begin by October, targeting customers such as charge point operators, fleet owners, and commercial vehicle operators.
The company has entered into a technology licensing agreement with StarCharge, an international EV charging provider with over two million installations worldwide. Under this partnership, Everta will manufacture, install, and service DC chargers in India using StarCharge’s technology.
Everta plans to achieve 50 percent domestic value addition initially and is working toward full localization in the coming years to reduce reliance on imports.
Industry estimates indicate a need for approximately four million public EV chargers in India by 2030, with 800,000 of these expected to be DC fast chargers.
Headquartered in Mumbai, Everta focuses on building high-capacity DC charging solutions for light and heavy vehicles through local manufacturing and technology partnerships.
